Patient Information

We understand that dental implant treatment is a significant investment in your health and smile, and it's natural to have questions about what to expect. Our goal is to make every step of the process as comfortable, informed, and stress-free as possible.

In this section, you'll find helpful resources about preparing for your procedure, caring for your implants afterward, nutrition ideas to support healing, and what to expect during your first appointment. We believe that educated patients feel more confident, and our team is committed to guiding you every step of the way—from your initial consultation through your final smile. No matter where you are in your implant journey, we're here to provide the support, answers, and compassionate care you deserve.

Initial Consultation

Your dental implant journey begins with a comprehensive consultation designed to give us a complete understanding of your oral health, goals, and expectations.

Most importantly, we'll take the time to listen. Together, we'll discuss your goals, answer your questions, and create a personalized treatment plan that fits your lifestyle, budget, and vision for your smile. Our goal is for you to leave your consultation feeling informed, confident, and excited about the path ahead.

During your visit, we'll:

Advanced digital imaging, including a CBCT scan and clinical photographs
Perform a thorough examination
Carefully review your medical and dental history
Assess bone health with a detailed evaluation
Discuss any existing concerns, and determine the best treatment options for your unique needs

Personalized Treatment Planning

Once you decide to move forward with treatment, the planning process begins. Using the information gathered during your consultation, we'll virtually design your new smile and precisely plan the ideal position of each dental implant using advanced digital technology. This meticulous approach allows us to create a customized surgical guide for accurate, predictable implant placement. We'll work closely with your healthcare team to obtain any necessary medical information and coordinate your care with any preexisting medical conditions. By taking the time to plan every detail before your procedure, we can optimize healing, enhance long-term success, and provide the safest, most predictable outcome possible.

The Day of Surgery

On the day of your procedure, our team will make every effort to ensure you feel comfortable, relaxed, and well cared for. If you are receiving sedation, you'll need a responsible adult to drive you to and from your appointment, and you should not eat or drink anything for 12 hours before your surgery unless instructed otherwise. Once you're comfortably sedated, we'll gently remove any damaged teeth and eliminate areas of infection as needed before precisely placing your dental implants according to your personalized treatment plan. Before your appointment is complete, we'll fabricate and securely place a custom prototype prosthesis, allowing you to leave our office with a functional, natural-looking smile while your implants heal. When you wake up, you'll already have a beautiful new smile and can begin the next stage of your journey with confidence.

Recovery & Healing

Your recovery is just as important as your procedure, and we'll provide detailed written and verbal instructions to help you heal comfortably and confidently. You can also refer to our comprehensive Post-Operative Care Guide for additional guidance throughout your recovery.

During the first few days, take any prescribed medications as directed to manage discomfort and support healing, and apply ice packs regularly during the first 24 hours to help minimize swelling. A small amount of bleeding or oozing is normal immediately following surgery and should gradually improve. To protect your implants while they heal, you'll need to follow a soft-food diet for approximately 4 to 6 weeks. We'll also provide you with a complimentary Water Flosser and show you how to use it to keep your new smile clean and healthy throughout the healing process. Our team is always just a phone call away, and we're here to answer your questions and support you every step of the way as you recover and enjoy your new smile.
